After 34 days, harvest is officially over! All of our fruit is in the door, and our team worked incredibly hard and kept their spirits high even on the longest of days. The name of the game now is finishing ferments, pressing, and barreling down. As we began racking last week, the final numbers started settling in. We did a lot this vintage! So, just how fast and furious did it all happen? How much fruit did we bring in overall? And how many different varietals did we work with this vintage? Let’s take a look!

Fruit Intake by Date & Tonnage

With our first fruit (white wine varietals) in on September 13th, we had a gradual ramp-up in fruit deliveries over the next two weeks. Then, we had two exceptionally large days – October 6th and 12th – when nearly 44% of our overall intake was brought into our space.

Our total: 367.351 tons!

White Wine Varietal Breakdown

Seven different white wine varietals came through our doors, with the majority of tons (50.0135, to be exact) being our beloved Pinot Gris. The Pinot Blanc and Roussanne have been blended with Chardonnay and will make their way to Bubbly Blanc de Blanc. Custom crush varietals include: Chenin Blanc and Riesling.

You may notice Pinot Noir on the white wine breakdown, and Pinot Gris on the red wine breakdown – it’s no mistake! We make a 100% Pinot Noir Rosé, putting Pinot Noir in the white category. The Pinot Gris in the red wine category is due to one of our custom crush clients, who blends Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Gamay Noir into their Passetoutgrains.

Red Wine Varietal Breakdown

It should come as no surprise that the majority of the red fruit we received was Pinot Noir – a whole 233.78 tons! Some of the Gamay Noir will belong to our Love, Oregon label, while the Cabernet Sauvignon is for our 3 Clowns and port projects. Custom crush varietals include: Tempranillo, Dornfelder, and Merlot.

The News Register, our local paper, covered a vignette of our crush season. You can read the article right here!

It was a fast and furious harvest, but our team did an incredible job of maintaining a smooth work flow, positive spirits, and ensuring a beautiful 2024 vintage – which you’ll be sipping in a few years’ time! Cheers, friends!
